In your opinion how many people are on the scene in cork? (Ball Park figure) I'm clueless to the answer! My use of the word "scene" incorporates all Gay venues. And while i'm asking.. what would you think the ratio of gays to Lesbians is on the scene.

god knows... about 300? it varies like from week to week, and theres always new faces, but i guess we're talking regulars here.... i really havent a clue. i heard b4 that the general ratior for gays to lesbian is about 31... but id say in this city its about 51. much more opportunities being a guy on the sceen than a girl!

I'd say a thousand easily - and then there's all the different subsections of the scene to consider such as the activists, the pub goers, the marrieds, the bisexuals, the college groups, the interest groups (e.g. rainbow ramblers), the settled types, the ones who come in froom the country every month or so, the sauna goers, etc.
Taking into account all of them I'd say easily 10,000.

I'd put the figure closer to 10k for gay people living in and around Cork, but as JC says, the number of people on the scene is drastically less than that - My guess would be between 1500 - 2000 regulars, and they do vary from week to week.

dont forget there is probably about an extra 5,000 who go online. Some of these
dont go on the scene, then again there is probably another 5000 who are down in
the local town/village pub

There were about 1,000 ppl at the showing of Genuine Deception, given that not everyone on " the scene " went to it and indeed that not everyone who went to it are regularly on the scene i'd say that 1,500 is about the right number
