The Club

Just as a matter of interest, what was the club like Sunday night? I assume most people were at Instinct. Can the two really survive? I know which one Ill keep attending anyway.

The Club was very busy last Sunday night. A lot of the punters had been to Instinct but some hadn't. Of those who had been most said it was too early to judge the place. A few people thought it was the best thign since sliced bread and a few had gripes that have been aired enough already on here.

I guess the next few weeks will be the tester. A lot of people were around this weekend it being the Bank Holiday and all. Having the 2 has its advantages. If that Piggy Doorman remains, then at least if you get stopped theres always the option of going to the Club as well. Id hate to see the Club lose all its custom because of this new bar. It wouldnt be right, as much as I bitch about the place.

The crowd did seem to die down a bit in Instinct come 12/12.30. I stayed myself (was dancing WAY too much to consider stopping) but I think that there will be nights I'll go to the Other Place and nights I won't go to Instinct at all (hey I have choices now, I'm gonna exercise them!)

The two will survive, I know of a good few who headed to the club but I thought INSTINCT rocked.

I thought Instinct was too packed so a group of us headed to the club. I'd say everyone had the same thoughts! But Sunday night in the club was fun! Sick of that fucken Enrique song tho!

The first ive heard of it.... but i wouldnt be surprised. they should sell up, ship out, buy a better place and revamp the gay scene of cork. if they close for good... then at least we still have instinct

I dont think the club is closing its meant to b just a rumour. I think they have being doing it up again. Instinct is fab the club can be good to the djs r great but it could do with being modernised. Anyone know who there new dj is dj passion is he any good. :eek:

Well the club is still surving. It has its ups and downs but what a brilliant weekend in there for pride. Mr pussy was fab sat night. It was jointed about 300 hundred people all th staff looked really smart. Sun was jointed to and free admission fri and sun. The place is looking well and has being painted again inside recently. I hope it survives its great to have so many places to go. Oh and i heard a rumour that it will be free in to the club every fri and sun from now on and only five euros on sat. Thank you to the other place for a great weekend.

I went to the Club Sat AND Sun night and I really enjoyed myself both nights. Mr. Pussy was comical! Thoroughly entertaining...

The only real problem with the Club is the unwieldy bloody building it's housed in. Staff and management-wise it's fabulous; if they relocated to a bigger venue that's more conducive to... well, I suppose human enjoyment (no bloody stairs and bars in the middle!!!) then they'd clean right up.

Having said that I'll be sad to see it go, if the rumours are indeed true. It's come on in such leaps and bounds over the last three years or so. But Phoenix-Like it may rise from the ashes blah de blah blah.

Actually, this is one scene rumour I do not know the story behind. It is a Mystery Booty Drew!

I agree the building is bad. the staff r fine and the djs r the same as the other gay pubs we visit and we like them. It has come along way. I have being talking to a few members of staff and they just laugh when they hear the rumours of it closing apperantly they have a thirty year contract left. Its just a rumour someone started none of it is true. And you know what rumours r like on the gay scene. :rolleyes:

I just assumed that because it was after getting really quiet now that there other venues after coming along, the place wouldnt be able to afford to keep going...

Haven't been to the club in months, don't see much of a point these days.

I a bit amazed at the free entry, especially when they made a BIG fuss about memebership before...

I do agree though, they really need a new premises asap
