Hi all,

We are launching our new fourms this Friday night!

We are using vbulletin 3 - see http://www.vbulletin.com/ for an example and to explore its rich features

You will then have to reset your password, as we can't import them -(as both forums use different encryption)
You will get an email telling you what to do, so have no fear over losing your username.

More info tomorrow - and Please feel free to ask any questions...

Will the forums be shut down for a period so that threads posted at the last minute (while the transfer is in progress) won't get lost?

Yes, it will be shutdown from Thursday night @ 12am.

Cool. Looking forward to it. Will the gaycork theme be moved over straight away as well, or will it be just the default vbulletin theme for a while?

I HATE the default vBulletin theme. PLEASE don't let the new forums appear techy and overly drab!

Now, I have to say, these new forums are rather excellent, love them, really do...

...but PLEASE tell me there's a way of turning off the email notification and Read Request thingies!! My Entourage is overflowing with useless mails about forum replies!!

Booty go into user cp.

It's on the upper left.
All the options can be fiddled around with on the banner that opens on the left under your user cp!

Yes there is!

1) Go to User CP (user control panel)

2) Select Edit Options, scroll to bottom

3) You will see 3 settings for Private Messaging:

Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages
Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up :)
