"Love is the greatest mystery."

"Sometimes love is not enough."

When a woman disappears, the intertwining lives of four couples become more complex and disturbed. Starring Anthony LaPaglia, Geoffrey Rysh, Barbara Hershey.

I'm kicking myself because I missed this in the Kino. I saw it on video the other night, and I must say it's fantastic. Very slow-moving for the first hour, it is however worth the wait a complex Australian movie mixing love-story, drama and mystery plots, with fantastic acting, great score, and brilliant cinemtography.

Highly recommended.

Yeah I managed to catch Lantana in the Kino last September and it was well worth seeing. I really liked it, very well-acted and memorable, the atmosphere and characters stayed with me vividly for a long time afterwards. I agree it was very slow-paced though, the audience I saw it with were surprisingly restless and impatient with it. I liked it though.

saw it in the Kino too. Lovely little Aussie film. It makes some nice observations on human interactions. The way the lives of the characters intertwinted was well written. I might get it out now that its on tape.

It's a brilliant movie, with a closing scene-montage-with-music that could rival the one at the end of "Donnie Darko".

Yeah it reminded me of Donnie Darko a little in places. I'd say if you're a David Lynch fan you'll probably enjoy Lantana. Or a fan of those intertwining character studies like Short Cuts and Magnolia.
