Was anyone who uses the board in Mitchlestown today for the Dannii Minogue concert?

the organisers for the mitchelstown festival said that next year they will either have to revamp the whole thing or scale the whole thing right down. they made no money, only 3500 ppl went to see danni and as a result they made an over all loss.

The biggest crowd they had all weekend was for the Proclaimers on Saturday night! Who were apparently very good. They only chaged money for the Dannii gig all the rest were free. Maybe it's a case that we have reached concert overload in the country. Every town and village in the country seems to have a festival of some type on these days...are people just losing interest overall ?

people are not loosing interest and i love the idea that in any weekend there is always something on, its a small country and nothing is too far away. i think though that these events could be better managed. not charging for all the other events was a bit dim witted. if the proclaimers drew the biggest crowd then someone should have realised they would in advance and put it as an all ticket event. even if it was just €10, think of the diff it would have made on the overall earnings of the festival.
i went to a revs gig in youghal last year, cost €15, it was worth it. it was sold out, the place was packed and they were brill. they could have charged for them aswell
