This beautifully shot film, directed by Emanuele Crialese is set against the backdrop of the Mediterranean Ocean on the island of Sicily. Grazi, a young, beautiful mother suffers from manic depression. The film explores the relationships within her family and
the difficulties faced by Grazia and those who love her.
The film is quaint, but moving and emotionally believable. At times Crialese's depiction of fishing life on the island may be a tad sentimental but never overly so. The acting ensemble is fantastic and the only problem I had with the 91minute feature was the saxaphone on the soundtrack. A wonderful little film for a summer's evening. Highly recommended.
