What's the deal with Joe McCaul - is he gay?? Was convinced he was - now a straight friend says that he has a girlfriend! I'm beginning to doubt my internal gaydar - eeeeeek!
Anyone see the pic of him on the front page of todays examiner - is it just me but he seems to have gotten an extreme makeover - looks great.
Now if they could just do the same with the song .....................

It's not really a matter of wanting him to be!!!
anyhow , I've seen worse.
(if my partner is reading this - love you hon)
Just worried that my gaydar is broken - may just need a tune up!
Think it would be kinda appropriate if he was gay - I mean most of the audience will be gay , just feels right to have a gay guy on the stage singing for Ireland!

Ok Joe is mutton dressed as mutton but whether he is gay or not doesn't matter does it? Best of luck to him!
He is very immature and I think this comes across as camp. If he is gay I wouldn't be surprised but it really doesn't matter![:-|]

I do sometimes. That's where they show repeats of Doctor Who, among other shows *cough*

Yes, some of us can tear ourselves away from itv/tv three's Celebrity Big Brother Pop Idol Swap Island now and then!
I think BBC THREE is a great youth orientated channel and BBC FOUR has some fantastic documentaries and world cinema. BBC NEWS 24 is flawed but vastly superior to Sky News, CBBC is fun, RADIO ONE AND RADIO FOUR put Irish radio to shame...
As you can see I'm nothing but a Corporation whore [:-D]

You are a BBC junkie! I never watch TV really as I have a weakness for reality tv to fill the void in my empty unfufilled life.................... [:-((]
But seriously I never watch tv only the news as if I do see a reality TV programme I will start to get hooked. I moan about it for 2 weeks and then I get addicted........... [:'']
I never watch soaps!

The "Scandinavian" party (Ireland, Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark) took place in the EuroClub in KYiv last night. Our own Donna and Joe are going down a storm in Kyiv. By all accounts they are wowing journalists and other delegations with their warmth, good humour and kitsch somewhat embarrassing stage act.
Given that they are performing towards the end of the show, with a routine much improved from the Late Late Show and sandwiched between two of the weakest songs in the semi, many are suggesting this might JUST scrape into the Grand Final Saturday night... which would be fantastic for my birthday party!
Last night our Joe performed a duet with Sweden's rather handsome Martin Stenmarck.
Here's their Martin...

And this is our Joe...

Joe and Donna were described today by Hugh Farrely in the Examiner as "The Milky Bar kid and his mother". That guy gets funnier every day.

Assuming you mean poncey [:-D] I'd have to agree with you, over-processed and varnished and just downright fake.
I don't think Joe McCaul is gay at all. I was watching the news yesterday evening (I know! What the hell was I thinking??) and, while he seems like a gentle, unassuming, almost nerdy sort of kid, my gaydar (which spots whackers at fifty thousand feet) didn't even quiver.

That's been doing the rounds of Eurovision fan sites (yes there are others just like me out there) for some time.

I agree with you Booty .... he is not gay! He is just silly...... [:-)]
I think many of the comments which have been expressed about him and his sister are unfair...they are only trying to do their best even if it is crap. So let's support them in their quest.................... [:-D]

Have you seen him dance?
Think that clears up any confusion over his sexuality once and for all.

Moldava was good (Eastern Europe Chilli-esque band with a drum banging grandmother)
Switzerland was good ("lesbian" rock chicks)
Hungary was okay.
The rest I have forgotten already.

Hungary is getting my vote - hunky male dancers have nothing to do with it - it's all about the music [;-)]
