Just saw this film after it came out on dvd (missed it in the cinema). Good film overall (I liked young Picard in it) but what is the buzz with having "special needs data" at the end. In fact the whole bit with Data dying had no emotional resonance whatsoever. I heard he was going to die, and kept thinking "oh man, it's going to hurt watching this" but when it happened it was over like that.

Plus the bit with Picard and Special Needs Data at the end.
"I'd like to talk to you about what kind of man he was, blah, blah blah"
Special Needs Data "I don't understand"
"OK, let's go back to the basis." (holds up card) "CAT. C-A-T. CAT"

And would probably continue with Picard trying to spoon feed him and shouting "Oh I do wish you'd try!!" until someone reminds him that you can't feed an android.

LOL!!!!!!!!

I adored The Next Generation and liked all the movies so far (I thought First Contact was SO good...) but I really didn't like Data in this one. He was so old and fat and had JOWLS!!!!!

It was nice to see Troi back with 'Paralysed Shoulders' Ryker, where she belongs. Goodness knows how she did the freaky Whorf Klingon Sex for so long. Poor dear.

Did anyone see Cap'n Picard (Patrick Stewart) on Graham Norton a few months back? I don't know how it is or why it is but that man is like sex on (very old) legs. Is anyone else losing sleep over this?

Yeah saw him on the Graham Norton show as well. He's Star Trek's Sean Connery (although I'd do Picard and not Sean). Yes Data put on quite a bit of android fat. His eyes look really bad in that film as well for some reason, must be the really shit contact lenses that you can get on the net (a friend of mine has the same ones, not to look like Data though, he's not a trekkie. I was joking with him about how many takes they had to do to get a shot of Brent Spiner without bloodshot streaming eyes [)]). Yeah Troi and Riker go well together. Troi's hair looks bad in the film though. Part with Shinzon wanting to touch her hair

"Ooh, your hair can I touch it?"
"Can I style it? Please. You've got to let me cut off the fringe"

That was so good when he was fucking her and then turned into a Reman. (About the only original looking alien they had in about 30 years, the rest all just look like humans with matchboxes glued to their heads).

Such a pity they realised Picard was the strongest character and Data was funny, they really cashed in and overdid it. In the series Data's unintenional seeming humour was priceless. I want Visor Geordi back as well! Give him some cool cyberpunk shades or something to replace the 80s pop band visor.

Saw this in the cinema and liked it. Good film, enjoyable, some good performaces in it and I was left gobsmacked in my seat with the Scimitar blew up with Data on it. Heard that a cast member was gonna buy it but never thought it would be Data, even though, in retrospect, the signs were there.

Was really glad that it didn't end with Data's memories or personality resurfacing at the end, would have made his death completely pointless.

Special effects were shit hot! The battle scenes get constant playing in my house, over and over again (bit only when my housemates haven't put the bins out!)

There was some obvious ham acting, especially from Frakes and Sirtis (Come on, the whole "Remember me?" line???) Would like to have seen more from Geordi (completely underused character) and what's with making Worf into a toothless old crumudgeon?? I mean he jumps when B4's hand brabs him outta the sand?? This from a Klingon warrior??? Didn't like that aspect at all!

On another note, have we noticed how, once again, Deanna was at the helm when the Enterprise rammed the Scimitar? God help the Titan I gotta say. (I can see it now, Riker banning her from the bridge, just to be sure...) Please note I have said nothing about women drivers however, we have had many able men women pilotting the enterprise, Ro, some nameless extra, wesley...

Overall it was time to move on. Some of the actors have gotten visibly older (Spiner, Frakes, Sirtis) so we can't keep expecting them to be jumping around like 20 somethings again. Don't think we'll see a voyager moive or a DS9 one either (pity that, that's my favourite Star Trek series) and thankfully it's WAY too early for an Enterprise movie! That said, you can just see some paramount exec coming up with a "great idea" for a reunion flick in a few years!

If u ain't a trek fan, rent it, it's well worth it. If you are a trek fan, then I'd say but it and be guranted that you never have to put another bin put again for the rest of your natural life...

I'd like to see a Voyager movie. It's a pity there was no aftermath to the series. I was hoping in Nemesis we'd hear some references to the voyager crew, but no just Admiral Janeway giving some random orders to Picard.

Couldn't stand Voyager. They neutered the Borg for god's sake!!! When it was good it was very very good (e.g. Year of Hell, Before and After) but most times it seemed to be happy to play to the lowest common demoninator and just give an average performance. Gave up on it after season four but saw a few epsiodes here and there afterwards.

To liven things up a bit they should have brought the ship back at about season 4 or 5 and then see what happens. Would the crew stay together? Would Harry get a promotion (and get off that ship)? Would Neelix be found guilty of crimes against intelligent TV audiences everywhere and brought out ot be hung drawn and quartered??? Oh the possibilities! Then on their first misison out, get them lost again and end the series with... "To Be Continued"... well I can dream....

I thought nemesis lacked in every way. Im firstly not a huge fan of Picard or Data and im sick to death of them been the leads in each of the movies. Next gen was always an ensemble cast, I can't see why the movie people suddenly decided those two should take center stage. Also beverly crushers role was tiny in the film. If it was picards clone and we all know he was in love with beverly then surely instead of deanna getting the limelight shouldn't it have been beverly. The wedding could have been fleshed out more we get to see guinan in the crowd but thats bout it. As there final movie it should have been more about the crew as a whole.

they should have had at the last minute Wesley crusher swooping in from his trips with the traveller and destroying earth once and for all.

Could have been worse. they could have had Wesley swooping in at the end and fixing everything (including the expanding waistlines!)

Anyways now that Star Trek will be away from the silver screen for a few years, who's gonna join me and demand a Farscape movie and a Babylon 5 movie???? Do I hear a "Hell yeah"??

data's death was shocking notice the absence of sound in the following scenes it was to heighten the emotional impact of the scene. even though data was an android the fact that all his friends had emotional ties to him made his death more real for lack of a better word. nemesis rocked it was the perfect swan song for the nex gen crew, lets just hope they dont make a deep space nine movie

I'm a massive Deep Space Nine fan! Thought it was the best series of the lot (although Next gen will always hold a special place in my heart for paving the way for all the great sci fi series that came later)

But yeah, hope they don't make a Deep Space Nine movie either. That story is over and without Sisko, Jadzia, O'Brien, Worf or Odo it wouldn't be the same.

That's easy! Here's what happened after Voyager returned

Janeway saw she was in some serious doo doo for all the violations of Starfleet regulations! This in itself would not be enough to warrant worry, but the fact that she kept making up Starfleet Regulations violated The Beta Directive - "If all else fails, don't bulls**t!" So she decided the best way out was to bite the bullet and sleep with Paris's dad! And Barclay. And Troi, just in case.

It worked because at the debriefing (oo er!) she was quickly promoted to Admiral! (Any rumours of getting her as far away as humanly possible from a starship were vehemently denied).

It all seemed to be going well until one fateful day she ordered the Enterprise to the Nuetral Zone. Her superiors buried their heads in their hands and sobbed softly until Section 31 took them away to the officers lounge in the sky. Two Soong type androids on the Federation Flgship and she sends the lot of them to Romulus unsecorted?? As she was dragged outta her office she could be heard screaming (in her most gravelly voice) that according to Starfleet Regulations 238, sub section 23 paragraph 28.A she can do this at least once every 5 years. When that didn't work she fessed up and admitted that an overworked Paramount Executive put her up to it.

Starfleet have issued a Federation wide warning to look out for this race. They are considered dangerous and all communications should involve phasers being set to maximum. And Quark.

Okay who wants to go next??

Only STAR TREK stuff I ever liked was voyager, Captain Jane, what a wicked and obvious dyke! Great stuff, it was

nemesis was good, loved finally seeing whatthe hell romulus and remus were realy like, a very over looked part of the trek universe. But I have to say there were huge shadows of the wrath of khan in the story. WofK being the best trek of all time, gotta love Khan and all his quoting moby dick. teehee moby dick
ne way yep yay nemesis. Oh and I reckon janeway is sold to the ferengi as a dabbo girl and winds up preggers by Rom.
