Hands down, Pop Idol have a better pool of talent. Fair enough, they're not writing their own songs, but vocally, they're streets ahead.

I think there is more musical talent in Paul Street than the two combined! PI and FA are light entertainment shows. What they do, they do brilliantly and I'll be hooked next Friday night. There are some great middle of the road vocalists in both and young Alex of Fame Acadmey might surprise a lot of people yet. But at the end of the day, musically, they are just more hyped versions of Stars In Their Eyes. But for wide audience, and emotion filled tension and more waterworks than the River Shannon, they are unbeatable!

Pop Idol wins hands down.
Although it will never be as good as the first one. Will Young is the ultimate pop idol. I was delighted when he beat that little squirt Gareth Gates. Although i'm not really following this one there does seem to be good talent on the show.

i have to go with fame academy. i never even notice that pop idol is on, until fame academy is over and i'm flicking thru the channels.

Any comments on Saturday nights POP IDOL? Thought it was really entertaining - really good singers!
