OK, so what is the queer vote? If there were a general election tomorrow, for whom would you vote?

I've put Labour for this, but I have to say that it would depend on the candidates running in my local constituency. Last time a complete gombeen ran for labour even though, on a national level, I think they are now the superior party. But there was NO way I was going to see that twit get a dail seat.

Hence I voted for the candidate that I felt would be best, in that case a Fianna Fail candidate. And he's been doing a great job so far. Now if some of his performance could rub off on those further up the ladder....

That's what I don't like about our parliamentary system. Do you vote for the party you want to govern the country or the person who will do the best job for his local constituency? I think devolving more power to local authorities and reducing the number of TDs could be a possible solution.

Labour definitely.

Remember reading the GCN last year just before the election where a representative from each party was interviewed. Labour , The Socialist party, and Sinn Fein came accross as very positive on what they would do for the Gay Community if elected. Fianna Fail just gave a vague bullshit answer as usual.

If more young people weren't as apathethic and voted we wouldn't have such a crap government now. Bertie Ahern is a joke.

Labour as well.

I'll be able to vote in the next election.

Their Gay rights stance is the best in the political arena at the moment.

i'll vote the same way i did in the last general election and give Mick Barry of the socialist party my number 1. I wouldn't really call myself a socialist but the members of that party do really fight for the people. I mean two members were imprisoned in Dublin for a month for not paying refuse charges. I think they really do fight hard for the working class.

I'd vote Labour also, 'cause I like Pat Rabbitte as a politician. He speaks the truth - little or no waffle. There is an openely gay cork councillor - P.Kelly (fine gael I think) but I wouldnt vote for him - does not represent the best in the gay community I think - enough said.

i vote greens, always. Funny, given the fact that I'm a capitalist-type engineering graduate. But I figure I have to balance my inherent selfishness by voting for sommat good like the Green Party.
