Hi I'm new to this forum.
So be nice.
Just wondering if you folks have been watching corrie over the last few days and wondering how you think the Todd storyline is being handled.
Myself, I've forund it very well handled and very touching.
Espically the scenes where Todd is struggling to discover whats going on in his head.
If I'd have seen those episodes 7 years ago it would probably have made my coming to terms with who I was a lot easier.
I'm applauding corrie and I hope they keep this up.

If soaps are suppose to mirror 'real' life, then I dont see what all the fuss is. There is a gay man in every village, town, community and city in this country. However, when a soap writer plots a story of a senstive nature, they are not always thinking about the consequences it might have on some of its viewers. If you were about to come out, or thinking around it, and you saw this episode - do you think it would make you feel that 'coming out' was a walk in the park - I dont think so.
In saying that I do appreciate the need for 'conversations' to be started in households around the subject, so it is good in that sense.
Commenting on the storyline etc. it just looked like it was (the gay story) crowbared into the programme. Everything was grand and then suddenly, just that day he started thinking about the fact he might be gay.
The writer of the story is gay himself (and a Dad) and always wanted and had it in mind to make Todd gay. It just never seemed to be an issue until now. Mind you having Adam Ricket on the same couch as yourself would turn anyway gay.

Ok, so they didn't get it right ? Hell, its Television and I guess everyone was giving their input. I was listening to Today FM and there were people talking about poor Todd getting stick from Sarah and Nick being a fool etc.
The best thing to me is that Cornonation Street steps into the sitting room of most Irish and English people 4 days a week. It got every one of its many many viewers thinking about sexuality. This is good.
It pains me to admit it but this silly little soap drivel is doing more good on educating a nation and letting them know that someone as "normal" and cool as Todd can be gay than anything thats happening in classrooms in Ireland. So while its implementation and introduction of homosexuality wasn't perfect at least its helmed by someone that actually knows what being gay is about. When you think about it though has everyones coming out gone smoothly and to perfection ? [)]

So can someone tell me what happened? I watched this weekend but now I've been dragged back into No TV Land and I need to know what's going on! And why is poor Tod clutching his teddy bear?

Because he's a FAG [;)]. He was clutching it because sarah walked out on him with bethany, and bethany dropped it in the rush.
