Just heard that MeHole Martin ( The Minister for Encouraging Pneuonmonia in Elderly Smokers by " encouraging " them to go outside in the rain in de winter to have a Fag ) is going to introduce a new methodology of advising patients of thier appointments at hostpitals.... Yea you guessed it SMS !
The way this will work is that you will get a text message, say in January, that will read as follows

" Dear Criticaly Ill Heart Patient, We wud lik 2 tell U that UR OP has been set 4 Xmas 5 yrs frm now , C U den if UR still knockin round, OK Sham,
UR buddy, Me Hole "

WOW.... Oh Yea , and every 76 y/o Cardiac paitent has a mobile phone and understands SMS speak.... thanks 4 dat Tom

haha, they don't actually use sms speak do they? It's so annoying when professional organizations use it.

actually most people are very happy with the service. as for not having a mobile phone, then the service is optional,it's not like you'll be forced to run out and buy a phone, it's just a convenience extra being tried out by them

is it really a bad idea. i havent heard anything about this but if its true i think its a fantastic idea. obviously lebaron is using an extreme case to get across his point of how it wont work. but it could actually be done so easily, when u make an appointment you give them your details of home address and phone no. anyway so they have your no. already. its just a matter of inputting the data of time and location into a database which sends out the sms at the apt time.

fantastic

i presume it starts off as a simple reminder, but this could be used to cut down paper work, save trees and the enviroment and the economy.

fantastic
