It's Eurovision time again and we will be showing both the semi-final and the final on a big screen. Miss Fabula Di Beamarchais will be giving live comment on Saturday for the final!

And me too on account of a communion.... you should get people to come dressed in the colours of the countries they are going for ( or for the countries that have the nicest colours[;-)] ) as I don't think Ireland will make it out of first round[:-(]

No, she and Miss Martin had a disagreement and the Fabulettes are revolting*, so no. No more Terminal Linda Martin, ever.
*as in anti-orange makeup and green smockery, not as in disgusting. Obviously.

This will be my first year watching the eurovision alone. Boo hoo. Anyone seen the contestants yet. My ultimate favourite to win this year is Romania, I love the song and the singer. Slovenia also stands a good chance as does Estonia with a really catchy abbaesque number. The predicted winner is Belgium with a song called Je T'adore, and its good but smacks alot of last years winner and speaking of Greece they have another great dittie forsaking dance for love.
Last year the emphasis seemed to be on drums, this year there's none, it ranges from dance beats to love songs with a bit of country thrown in thanks to Germany's awful entry. There's a song called I think 'Twist' you'll know it when you hear it also very catchy but I can't remember what country.
The award for campest cookiest song has to go to Iceland. With a singer that represents a mix of old Cindy Lauper meets Bjork on speed and a song that includes a break for a phone call to God, 'Congratulations' is a possibly maybe.
The worst of the bunch, Poland and Spain, what were they thinking!
I'm a fan of Brian Kennedy but not the Irish entry, its sweet and instantly forgetable.
Let Eurovision mania begin and VOTE FOR ROMANIA.[;-)]

Wheres your patriotism?
Besides weren't you backing Iceland a short time ago?
Seems the only good way Ireland is represented is by whoring out our talent to other countries.

Still backing Iceland but heard she might be banned from performing. Carola always had my support due to manchurian candidate like brainwashing thanks to schlager-master Amnesiac.
As for patriotism, the ballad is long dead in Eurovision. Look over the last few years, it's all about the spectacle, the flash, the performance. Look at the winners acts! We don't stand a chance of winning until we cop on to the fact that Eurovision has changed and it is no longer the 80's/90's and we should stop sending acts that would have appealed to an 80's/90's audience to the Eurovision of the 21st!

I agree.... what we need is a blonde singing a song with a beat to it and some hot backing dancers [:-?]

You should have seen him in Eurovision a few years back, leather pants and whipping off his top. He used to be a gymnast I believe, it shows.

Here's a question:
On Saturday, would you prefer A. mildly humourous anodyne Grandpaisms or B. Out-and-out-horrifyingly-cruel-yet-desperately-funny-in-the-right-light-as-long-as-there-are-no-call-centre-multinational-meltingpot-style-tables-present jokes?
EDIT: Actually, fuck it. Of course it's B.
