Its about time we changed the forum ranking-

Fresh Chicken = 0 posts
New In Town = 5 posts
On The Market= 10 posts
Sleeping up the Ladder = 50 posts
Around The Block And Back = 100 posts
Absolutely Flawless = 200 posts

Here is what we suggest-

Fresh Chicken = 0 posts
New In Town = 50 posts
On The Market= 100 posts
Sleeping up the Ladder = 250 posts
Around The Block And Back = 500 posts
Absolutely Flawless = 1000 posts

What do you suggest?

Eh, No. I have spent half my life and all my savings (a fortnight arguing with bastard Eircom about their free broadband installation) getting to where I am today. I am not about to let Elitist Admin undo all my hard, witty, wonderful work and shunt me back down to 'On The Market'.

I was On The Market once, and a woman with gold toilet seats in her ears tried to sell me a soiled three-piece cottage suite. I was only trying to get to the Bodega!

i think if you create more than just 5, maybe one for every hundred or so posts. there would be more people in more varied positions

I agree with this suggestion, apart from Absolutely Flawless, I think we should make it some unreachable target of like 5000 or 10000 posts, and have 1000 posts called something like "Cyber Queer" or Amnesiac's hilarious "Spam Whore".

Just out of curiosity, why do we want to change the ratings? I know they've been here a while, but i've only been on the boards since August so i'm still trying to get used to them.

"im here and im queer" is a well known phrase and used quite alot. as for "im a top" well i admit, while being a bit unimaginitive i was just playing on the sexuall conontations implied in the others "sleeping up the ladder", "on the market", "around the block and back"

how about you have a certain saying or quote for certain numbers, for every 100 posts you could have a little saying (imagination is drawing a blank, i blame tv for this) you could also do quotes for ssignificant numbers, such as 7,13,21,66,69,666etc

Why not just change the current names for something funner, and have boy and girl specific ones, 'cuz 'I'm A Top' doesn't make much sense if you're a lay-dee.

We like the current forum ranking names - its more the posting numbers that we want to change....

then you should have a break in point, dont have the first changeover at 50. when you are starting out it can take quite a while to get to 50. have it as 25 or something smaller

At the risk of being subversive I think we should base the rankings on quality rather than quantity of posts. It's a pity to reward truck loads of mediocrity and demean the well chosen pithy occasional contributions by calling them fresh chicken.

It would be good to increase the number of posts needed to gain extra stars below your username. At the moment you look down a thread and all you see is moderator stars and yellow stars.

(Must work on some new name suggestions as well).

Was going to suggest putting up a poll as to what people think. Was thinking, hmmm those with high posts counts are going to fill out the poll. But then again, there are a lot more people out there with low post counts who are probably more likely to vote than post.

Okies all, it seems forum ranking has cause more upset that I realised, and in a way demoted a few of our long term regular users.

I have re chaneged the ranking to-

Fresh Chicken = 0 posts
New In Town = 5 posts

I will simply have to program in more ranks to cater for higher numbers ....
