Haha well Pansexual is pretty hard to explain since people have their own descriptions of it. But it mainly means i love everything an anything hehe
From a friend on Gaiaonline.com P I G G Y
Basically, being attracted to not just two sexes like bisexual implies. They're attracted to ALL genders. This means the pansexual person is attracted to, or can be attracted to, males, females, intersexes, pangenders, androgynes, agenders, genderqueers, bigenders and many more.
The term pansexual generally is used for a person who does not classify their sexuality with a person's sex, but their gender. They believe that there is a set difference between sex and gender - gender being the socially constructed condition of being male or female, and sex being the biological condition of male or female.
Pansexuals may be attracted to various different forms of romance, and may be aroused by various different acts of sex on a carnal level. It has been stated that pansexuality refers not to a metaphysical order of attraction to other human beings, but rather a more carnal attraction to sexual acts irrespective of gender, as the word "sexuality" refers not to metaphysical attraction but to carnal attraction and its orientation [citation needed]. Some suggest that pansexuality is more accurately described by its adepts: human- or person-oriented. Despite a pansexual's fluid sexuality, some may have a preference. A pansexual may be attracted to all genders and sexes, but have a preference, (for example) for pre-operative transsexual people, other pansexuals, masculine lesbians, intersexed people, etc.
Many people who identify as pansexual may associate with people of all sexual orientations, but are not necessarily interested in sex with people of all sexes or genders.
While heterosexual suggests your interest is towards the opposite gender, homosexual suggests the same gender, and bisexual suggests either gender, being pansexual means that you identify as having a sexual orientation towards everything, including people of all genders. It may also suggest that you acknowledge you could be sexually aroused by a song, or babbling brook.
Sorry its a bit long but it explains it the best haha

Haha its not that bad lol
Btw i'm a gal but im also omnisexual...well atleast thats what a friend of mine calls me lol it means while im female generically i am also male sometimes in how i act haha
Being pansexual is fierce confusing for some but I think it's a great description and a better place to be than being pigeon-holed into an 'either-or' situation where you're uncomfortable all the time because people have labelled you. I'd consider myself to be one and have answered the question of my sexuality in the past as being pansexual but I didn't know it was actually being used in the mainstream. Go figure. Is there nothing sacred?
I presume now that it's out in the open it'll be institutionalised and commercialised and we'll have people marching for it and demanding recognition (old cynic that I am).
Very close to hedonism I would think but without the drugs and drink (though I presume that's an option no matter what you describe yourself as). It's having a sensuality in your existence and the existence of everything about you from moonlit nights to warm rain to whatever else gives you pleasure.
Go Pan! :)
Ah everything is main stream thse days and Pan's have been growing in numbers over the last yr maybe 2 or shall i say the label has been more widespread.
Hehe i've had so many discussions about labels with people in Sexularity guilds i either own or Mod in lol
Ok so the main theory i have is that Humans have a natural instinct to name things to reconise what something is.
Labels don't mean much its only the close-minded people who think they mean everything.
Heh a friend who i think some of you may find interesting to meet is Kat and Kim here's their site (www.shoujoai.ca) im not advertising btw its just these two woman are lesbians and Kim writes her own books that are amazing she's a great friend of mine.
Some of the guides she put up about Gender (http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=7930383) and also sexularity (http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=7930357) terms are great.
Terms are just a faze (sp?) people go through lol i get called a Lebian b*tch most days.
Sorry i'm rambling alot happening at home and minds going off in tangents alot.

As you may have guessed 'dia dhuit agus fáilte' simply means 'hello (literally, God be with you) and welcome'.
So....hello and welcome (in your native tongue) [:-P].

Jesus, i thought being gay was confusing but being pan, my god. never in my life have i heard of this before and i can't say i still understand it after reading your reply but sounds fascinating.
Do you know many people like yourself? Would you associate yourself with the gay community or straight community or both?

I'm in a talkative mood about myself (rare) so well it may be a long post
Do you know many people like yourself?
lol oh yesh most definitly try GaiaOnline.com its a kids game although plenty of adults are on it but in the guilds there are so many different sexularities that have expanded through it. My own guild (http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/index.php?gmode=index&guild_id=28753) for instance which has 416 members. (btw guilds are like seperate forums from the main ones). Although in RL i haven't really met anyone well except of course my (online) sister Amanda who's trans and two other friends who are also trans but no one in my own area [:-(].
I'm 17 and people in my school don't like me and think im "creepy" since im a lebian...yeah the fact i have a boyfriend doesn't seem to clue them into im Bi/Pan lol children huh. There are rumours about some gals in my school being les but none of them would admit it since they know what happened to me when i came out to my friend and then had one ex friend shout out to everyone im les then i got bullied for a yr or so.
Thats what is great about the Net hehe. I always loved gals but in school you sorta get taught that being Les is a bad thing so i surpressed it and its only since Jan 2006 i actually said im Bi (at first lol)
Would you associate yourself with the gay community or straight community or both?
How'd you mean associate? as in who do i hang out with?
Well that would be straight people since i don't know any gay people here >..<;
Online well as you can see lol i associate myself with gay and straight an ofcourse in between lol
If you mean if i was asked what i am as in straight or gay then i'd say im of the gay community. Im proud of who i am 100% lol i have been trying to ad my siggy to this site but files too big anyway here's a link lol (i made the flag hehe) http://tinyurl.com/33xses

Your lucky! I wish they would have taught me. When i came over and went into 4th class in primary school all my teacher did for me was tell me to open up the Gaelic book and colour in the pictures...then about a year later when i moved into another teachers class she gave me some work but its was pretty useless since she was trying to build on work i never knew lol
Thank you for the welcome ;)
