As crap as that last one is and as much as I hate the Eurovision, I have to extend my sympathies to the rest of the EU Nations and my apologies for the incredible post-Dempsey's-Den-not-sure-if-it's-a-midlife-crisis style stupidity of whomever it was decided to put that plainly unfunny badly made puppet forward for Eurovision.

Since when was it funny to be a Dublin skanger? How is that entertaining? I blame Roddy Doyle and Brendan O' Carroll: I'm sure it's all very sad that they had to get a bath in a tin kettle and hide Countess Constance Markiewicz in the chimney and rob fruit out of prams while covered in shit, but really, there are standards.

It looks like an interesting selection! some Irish twink version of Zac Efron is singing a Swedish composed schlager stomper called "Double Cross My Heart" and some Slovenian bird is singing a song that was originally accepted to the Romanian National Selection.

I can't believe all of you dissenters who don't support Dustin. Were you never young? Did you never count the hours in school til you could race home, whip off your uniform and turn on the den? Did you not dance around your living room to his duet with Joe Dolan? Were you not excited when he led the Saint Patrisks day parades?

I was! And I remember Dustin's very first appearance, and when they cut off his beak wattle, and his evolution from Zig & Zag supporting character to fully-fledged featured puppet. And I've always hated him. I always thought he was so very unfunny... ...like Agnes Browne or re-runs of Hall's Pictorial Weekly.
