Alright, so, I'm 23 and new to Cork but not new to Ireland. Already been living here about 3 years up in Kildare but, hopefully, will be at UCC next year. Not fully out yet, which is my main crutch as I don't really have any gay friends. I guess I want to check out the scene in Cork and meet people. It seems friendly enough. Anyway, if anybody has some wicked ideas on where to go out in the city or wants to chat, message me. Take it Easy.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks. I appreciate it. Its great to have something like this as I'm fairly knew to Cork anyway, and am not quite sure how it all works around here. I managed to get myself to instinct a couple of weeks ago, but their was about 5 people in there, so I left, but I was thinking of heading down on Thursday for a drink or 2, is it a bigger crowd then 5 usually from Thursday on? Also, how do the meet-ups work? so just as hot as americans but not american eh? some guy told me it was the same difference at some late bar the other night, bastard...lol. anyway thanks again!

Ah! Thats so class!!! Mega jealous at the thought of discovering Cork for the first time, centre of the universe that it is [:-P]
The place rocks and folks are soooo friendly, I doubt you'll have much trouble settling in here ESPECIALLY if you're moving to UCC campus. Sorted lad [;-)] Welcome to GayCork [B-)]

The 'scene' is fairly quiet on a Thursday night. Friday night the best place to go is Rubys (wait until about 12 ish though) as it's too quiet before that.
Saturday night Instinct is the place to be. Before you go to Instinct try Flux or Loafers for a few drinks.
Meet ups are just a few of us getting together for a chat and a laugh really. Everyone is very welcome especially new comers. It's a great way to make new friends

Ah yes the standard way to annoy anyone from Canada [;-)] I've used it myself many a time as the place I work has an office based there.
Welcome to Cork anyway, it's not a bad place.

Hey Travis, welcome to gay cork (.com and real gay cork ). I know a few Canadians, mainly girls, studyin med in UCC, so if you're homesick you're not alone in Cork (if you see a gang of asian-looking girls listen for the Canadian accent!).
The main way I got to know gays is through UCC LGBT, but I know the likes of Shiva from work. Weird thinking back on when I first came to Cork, especially since I probably won't be here next September!

Welcome Travis! Try and make it to the next meetup if you can, they're loads of fun and a really good way of introducing yourself to lots of us in one fell swoop!

Welcome Travis, you'll have a ball in Cork...instinct can bit hit or miss on a Thursday night, might be heading there myself later if I can motivate myself to get off the couch and meet my mates!
