How many from the site would be around that night and interested in going?

Old class reunion that night. But a choice between engineers in a pub and watching gayboys dance is not a choice at all. [)]

Note its up all those stairs. I'm lazy. Mary can you carry me ?

Hunny note there is a lift and I'd carry you but Slayer may not be impressed.

ICE QUEEN "A refreshing familiar change"

I was at ICE QUEEN last Sunday, and I must say it was utterly fab.
It only cost €10 (and you didn't having to sign your name!!))

It boasted 2 DJ's - DJ Broz & DJ Dermo, whose tastes appealed to all.

DJ Broz is as good as always, but his music choice was slightly different than we would have heard at the Savoy.
DJ Dermo started the night off with classic 80's / 90's tunes and shows great potential!

The venue is superb - utterly refreshing from the darkness of the other place. (with accessibility for all)

Overall the night proved to be a great success (all tickets sold out!) and hopefully it will become a permanent fixture on Cork's Queer Calendar

I'd have killed to have gone but unfortunately was out with friends of a friend, drunk hair-straightened 'we're-rock-chicks,-sure-we-are-lads' twats from up the country who insisted on paying a fiver max for wherever they went. I think they ended up in Havana Brown's. Shudder. I ended up at home.

So let me get this straight... there are two monthly gay nights in the Opera House now... Cloud Nine and Ice Queen? Vive le compétition!

I only heard good things about it from anybody who was there. Read the thread jc, it's gotten better reviews than that four letter word of enlightenment.

Cloud 9 was great. I think it's on again at the end of the month.

Great music and a great atmosphere. i shall certainly be wandering around in there next time.

The second Ice Queen was held last night and despite the fact that it'sa January and everybody is broke there was a good turn out, with the cast of Ali Baba and the Forty Queens making an appearance.
It's very differnet to the chart orientated nights in the club... eighties electronica rules the roost at Ice Queen! Broz satisifed most as the main DJ, but DJ Dermo from The Exchange was a great foil as the support DJ.
