Right I'll keep it short and to the point.
There are two big issues causing a lot of concern when it comes to gigs & gigging in this country - The behaviour of bouncers & Pay2play.
We're gonna try to do something about both issues but we need YOUR help. Visit www.getagig.ie and click on the "bouncers" & "Pay2play" links.
Any time you attend or play a gig we ask that you report your experiences here. As trends begin to emerge, we'll be publishing a league table of venues. Call it name & shame if you want but we'd like to see people avoiding the venues at the bottom of the table and frequenting the ones at the top.
Report your experiences from everytime you go out, it takes up little or no time and could make a real difference.

A small update on how things are progressing regarding the Bouncers situation. We are investigating a scheme being run in Co. Antrim where the local council, the PSNI and some venues have set out some guidelines / code of conduct which clarifies everybody's rights. Doormen MUST participate in a training course and are accountable for their bad behaviour - if any.
We're still looking for as much feedback from you about your experiences with Doormen, good AND bad. If a similar scheme is to be implemented anywhere in the Republic, we're gonna need as many coments, feedback etc. to get some people off their asses in their cushy jobs so they have to atleast pretent they're interested and get something done in a reasonably short space of time.
We DO NOT intend to let this go the same way every other project involving certain sections of the government / council run the rest of the country. It will be effective, on time, and won't give anyone any excuses to hire taxes or charge extra admission fees etc!!
