View Full Version : Serial Killer on the Loose

It's become quite clear to me that we have a sinister serial killer on our hands.
Almost every single new member to join gaycork.com in 2008 has mysteriously disappeared shortly after their first "I'm a newbie" post.
The only conclusion i can come to is that there is a sick individual out there determined to eliminate the fresh blood to our wonderful site. It reminds me of the film 'Cherry Falls' where a serial killer brutally murders virgins.
Because this is happening to gay newbies there is no general uproar in the media. The gardai seem to be oblivious. Once again gay issues are swept under the carpet.
So what is to be done? How are we to retaliate? A vigilante group perhaps?
Something needs to be done to apprehend this homophobic and newbiephobic psychopath.

Well its funny that you keep dragging up this topic, isn't it true that its easier to hide in plain site for a serial killer, eh wincey?

well maybe they just dont find anything posted on the boards something that they feel the need to reply to. sometimes the topics on here are not easy to reply to if youre not in on the scene or havent a clue what they're on about.

Damn this reputation spready thingy - Invincible you definitely deserved some for this thread!
In fairness suspicion was always going to be cast on you and you didn't help matters by dressing as a policeman for Halloween - everyone always trusts a policeman........

The hope is when new people join they can start thier own threads and bring a bit of new life into the forum. Unfortunatly it doesnt seem to happen though

I don't think you should get to have a newbie thread until you write like fifty posts or thereabouts. It could be like a hazing process- they show us they are committed and then we acknowledge their existence. If it was harder to join here then it would automatically become more appealing!

It could be like a hazing process.
I like it, like an initiation, a rite of passage or even trial by fire. Oh the ideas... [:-?]

I think I'm one of the disappeared!! [:-O ]
I got a job in London just after the first meet up I was at so I moved over here and havent logged in in a million years.
The meet up was great fun actually, it was during pride week and I had a blast. I'll have to come back for it next year.
So the gaycork.com serial killer didnt get me.......yet!!
We just got broadband in our place here so i should be posting from time to time.

I don't know where the others have disappeared to but Rolo is currently lying under sentence of death.
As soon as the stocks have been constructed, he'll be pelted to death with WKD bottles.
However the "official" cause of death will be by heart attack. Poetic justice methinks.

hitting the nail on the head....
why not start a thread [0:-)]
i remember one of the unofficial meetups, and someone i won't name genuinely was very thankful that people responded to things he/she had posted. and we all talked about how we were in the same boat...it can be intimidating to be a first time poster, or someone who's coming back after not posting for a while. but--especially for newbies--i always try to make an effort to post something.
after all, we ARE the gaycork.com community, whether you post or not. so you might as well make the most of it [;-)] while it does tend to veer off into inside jokes, it's also a good way to make new friends. and if you come to the meetup, you'll have a few inside jokes of your own [;-)]
in the words of my new President, "Yes, We Can" ...it doesnt really relate, but im still on my Obama-high [:-P]
