I know there's going to be people who loved this film. Unfortuantely, I'm not one of them. Just went to see it tonight. It's visually stunning and a nice concept. Unfortunately, whatever plot it had runs out of steam early on and the movie - like its rope-tied characters - plods on relentlessly, leaving the audience in its wake. More dialogue, a faster pace, and possibly a shorter running time would have made this at times mind-numblingly boring movie better.

I think this is a new departure for Takeshi Kitano. I'm a big fan os his work. Brother is outstanding and so are some of his other vicious and brutal gangster films.

The whole idea of this film is it follows the old traditional Japanese doll stories. Its an interesting concept. Hope to see it soon.

I agree . Brother is fantastic. This was a good concept but a bad movie. I wouldn't call myself a fan of his work, per se, but maybe it's more enjoyable (Dolls, that is) if you are?

That bizarre Japanes Pop Idol sequence is based on an old Japanese legend... I actually really liked it... the song was quite catchy too ;)
