hey there everyone, last saturday i becam an uncle for the first time and all the talk in my house was about names for the last few days. it got me thinking about all the names on this site. so im wondering if there are any interesting stories behind your names

when i was in irish college, every year on the last day at 6 o clock in the morning we would all get up and walk about a half mile, wrapped in sleeping bags and blankets past a whole load of houses (there were people in them looking at us, 120 people half naked roaming the country side at 6 in the morning) to a castle on a big cliff. we would all sit down and watch the sun rise over the sea.
i love to watch the sun rise and set so my name is a kind of variation of the word solstice. its sad i know but i like it and am sticking to it.

Used to need a fake e-mail address for corresponding with people during my closet days so I signed up with redbulljunkie@ihateclowns.com . I used redbulljunkie because at the time I needed lots of stimulants to get me through studying for state exams. (I hate the stuff these days, as is the same for a lot things that you taste after getting over your addiction for them). I guess I decided to still use it when signing up for gaycork instead of boring old k.oriordan . Didn't really like the HerrLipp one I was using on the qboard after a while. Kind of realised these days that redbulljunkie could have a gay double meaning as well (was totally unintentional and only the dirty-minded of you will figure it out anyway).

well, am majorly into comics, and tank girl is a character from a comic (look her up on google. this girl kicks BOOOOTAAAY).
my other username (Odyssey) is from Linc so I figured to a be a bit less linked (pun, oh dear) with the other site I'd take a different name.

Anyways Tank_girl is a kick-ass fighting type of girl, whose boyfriend is a kangaroo, though I do think she had a quick fling with SubGirl at one stage...anyways, I digress! I have a bit of oul hero worshipping going on. Tank Girl is so damn cool and all that, and there's ne'er a chance of me ever being anywhere close!
Ohhhh, I would sooo loved to shave me head, don some punk gear, and head off into the sunset...
But work calls....

Well, Southside, I think most people here are using nicknames. But as for my other username here (Odyssey), most people have come to call me Od now, so in a way my online name has leaked out into real life!
Am not bothered by nicknames tho, I've gone thru so many nicknames in my life, Mars to my mother (cos my name is Marie), Pix to my straight mates, Od to my queer mates
and Daisy...to um...me girlfriend (lol! she went to say baby, when she'd given me a daisychain (MUSHY....lmao), but she stumbled over her words and called me Daisy instead. and the name stuck)

I'm a big comic book fan, and I mean big!!!! Have a collection of about 1500 comics currently, with another 120 graphic novels, trade paperbacks. And those only coutning the ones i currently have! Have lost count of the ones I sell on, trhow away, give away, etc.

Anyways at the moment, Marvel Comics is going through a bit of a renaissance (i.e. they've gotten good again!) and they have earned the nickname "NuMarvel"
