I wouldn't know half the terms....but I can't say I've come across much of the shounen-ai stuff.....that said, maybe I have and just never knew the term applied to what I was watching.
I suppose I'm more familiar with the mainstream stuff...Pokémon, Digimon, Card Captors, Yu-gi-oh....all that stuff was assimilated into me when they came out. Kinda lost track over time as they got more complicated. Does the like of Spirited Away count as animé?? Or Final Fantasy games?? I've never really sought Animé out like.....it find me. Every so often someone makes a comment, like Ryato about the Precures and so on, and I just wind up immersed in the stuff.

I'd call you quite lucky then ;) There are quite alot of users. It's great to make friends through here too.

Awesome just makes people's jaws drop...being incredible is to be beyond belief. And yup, I'm that annoying about words with everyone...safe out to ignore me!
As for the animé, I like anything with a decent storyline. I kinda just find out about whatever animé stuff other people are liking. Nice to be able to talk about the stuff they like!
