The same thing happened to me, except I was in your bf's shoes!

Im 100% sure our old hampster is sitting in my ex's attic eating everything he can get his claws on.

One day Dublin Fire Brigade will have to take him out using a crane.

Leave his cage on ground level with the door open and leave lots of food inside - the cage is his home and he'll return. Alternatively, you could get some of the live traps and try and trap him in those, just make sureyou check them regularly cos he could in theory suffocate.

Well he was runnign around the living room and kitchen last night because his little tracks are all over the flour and he's taken all his food from his cage. Which means he doesn't see it as his home anymore. :-(

I can hear him scratching around in the walls in the kitchen; I think he's found a way in via the holes for the washing machine etc. He now has a lot of food and I don't know if he'll return.

STUPIDLY, I took the little house with all his bedding and woodchippings from his cage last night and left it in another room I thought he might be in. If I'd left it in his cgae he might have gone to sleep there.

That is good news! My cat got out the other day and spent a good half hour taunting me from her vantage point at the garden shed, the brazen bitch. It is weird how much we can worry about our pets, isn't it?

Yay! My hamster died 2 weeks ago, so I know how much you can miss them. Going to get a new one when I move to Dublin (IF I move to Dublin...).

When i read he'd gone missing for some reason i feared the worst amnesiac!! I'm so glad you've got him back, it must be such a relief!

I bet your other half is rather relieved too.
