What are you doing for St. Patrick's day?

Apparently I hate Paddy's day...

Plus I'm hungover...

Todays the day.

You know, it's nice to see families together, going to the shop to get milk all the mammies and daddies and sprogs were together, dressed to the nine in greens.

It's nice to see the country get together for something and stir that raw emotion which is Ireland and community spirit.

I'm spending the day cleaning.

Lots of companies that service international markets in call centres, IT services etc expect staff to work on St Patricks day, a lot of them give you the bank holidays of the main country you service instead. The better places might even pay extra plus a day in lieu (when I worked in Schlumberger they paid double time and a day in lieu - so well worth working the bank holidays!)

Likewise emergency services, Gardai, hospitals etc. And of course pubs and some retail.

I was completely trashed by the way. Started with the hipflask at the parade then on to the Bodega, Mutton Lane and finally we hooked up with a bunch of girls and ended up in Larry Tompkins. A great time was had by all and lots of sore heads today.
