where to tatoo?

Does anybody know of a good and reliable tatoo joint in this city?
Where is good and clean and where should be avoided.

Theres a tatoo place on south main street across from the Classic bar. He is meant to be good and always busy.

Safest bet is to just not get one! too much maintenance and too depressing when they fade and sag..... get the wrong one an its stuck there!! Its very very rare that ive seen a tattoo that i personaly liked and they normally black celtic/tribal pattern on the arm or between the scapulae!! on very muscular tanned men! Too much maintenance for me!
Anywhere that has good qualifications/awards would display them proudly, cant think of why a tattoo business couldnt apply for one of the ISO awards....!!!

I think pretty much all of the established places in the City have good reputations - your best bet would be to just pick a place, look at their past work (all of them have a sort of portfolio) and ask the man to talk you through the process - as in 'This is a new needle, this is how the ink works' etc. My old flatmate went to Raven Tattoo three years ago and had a very, very intricate one done and it's still very sharp. The most important stage is the aftercare of your skin, and be prepared to have it touched up every three to five years.

tattoo zoo accross from the classic bar and beside pizza republic is the best i reckon, very nice and very very clean

I haven't got a tatoo but i've got lots of piercings done in Raven and he's always been very professional. I would seriously think about getting a tattoo though. You are stuck with it and they are very expensive and time consuming to remove. I know somebody in the process of getting one removed now. You may also have to wait a couple of weeks before you can get it done. Raven and Tatoo Zoo are oftyen booked up for weeks!

i've also had a piercing in tattoo zoo, a re-piercing from what i had got done in raven. (i let it close up and got it done again) and i did find a huge amount of professionalism from the lads in tattoo zoo, highly reccommended! i personally feel that raven just want you in and out of the place to make room for the next person without actually giving you the proper advice etc for taking care of your tattoo/piercing.

Although i dont have a tatoo myself (way2scared) from what i heard the Raven is the best place to tatoo and Tatoo Zoo is the place for piercings, i got a piercing in the Raven and from the instructions he gave me it got badly infected and i had to go to TZ to get it sorted. My boyfriend got his tatoo done in a place down the side street between the coal quay and north main street and sed they were very good.

He pierced my eyebrow a few years ago (I miss it! Well I still HAVE the eyebrow) and I'll get a tattoo from him one day!

Living Art in my opinion is the Bast in the City.The tatoo artist is award winning the place is very clean and te staff are a gr8 laught.
Living art is across the river from merchents quey it's a big Sky bule building wit a wasp on it.

I have a couple of tattoo's and i love them . I would however advise you to go abroad, or to a woman named Clare in Bandon. I would never have a tattoo done in cork city. Make sure when you do get the tattoo done you take really good care of it the first few days otherwise my dear you may as well just piss your money away now. Also ALWAYS wear a strong sun factor on ur tattoo its amazing how hot the skin can get. Other than that dude.. Enjoy! I never regret my body decor!!

Got my tatoo done about wo months ago nom and went to Triple X on 104 Oliver Plunkett street (3rd floor). Their phone number is 4274959 and they are great. The tatoo guy is adam and he is a really OZ weirdo but funny guy. Great stuff done there and very very safe.
