New Forum Guidelines

GayCork.com Forum Guidelines

PREFACE:
We have been going by these guidelines in the past but now we felt it best they are written down. It will not change much on the forum going forward but at least now with the guidelines, no one can say "I never knew about that rule".

Also it should be noted that the opinions expressed by users on this forum of not of GayCork.com, but of the individual users themselves.

GayCork.com is a privately owned and voluntary run website; It is not associated with any organisations and / or companies :

• Therefore you do not have the right to say whatever you want on here, and you are expected to obey the guidelines just like anyone else. Not following the guidelines outlined below will get you banned.
• You are allowed to discuss anything as long as it doesn't break the following rules or laws of the Republic Of Ireland

Advertising

• Topics and/or posts that contain this will be both edited and locked. However postings for community/charity/non-profit making ventures are allowed.
• Please limit these to one thread and NOTE that you can also use the Calendar feature of this forum to highlight an event.
• Multiple threads/postings on the same event will be deleted.
• If you wish to buy advertising space on this website, please contact webmaster@gaycork.com

Spamming

• Posts that are just complete nonsense will be deleted without warning.
• You do not need to post threads in multiple forums.
• You may ask a Moderator if you think the post is important.

Porn

• Topics/posts containing such will be deleted on sight. This is a severe offence.
• The minimum ban handed out will be one month. Permanent bans will also be handed out for this.
• If you are linking to an external website that might contain "newspaper" nudity or contains sexual reference, please make sure you mark it "Not safe for work".
• Pictures of cute woman/men/hunks/eye candy are allowed. Full nudity is not allowed, either on the forum or in the gallery.

Off Topic

• Posts that stray off topic will be edited/deleted, depending on their relevance to the topic at hand.
• These posts may also be moved to a thread of their own.
• People who ignore a moderator's request to stay on topic will be banned for a week.

Phone numbers

• Posting other people phone numbers is a bannable offence.
• You should never post your own number on a thread as it is not guaranteed to be safe.

Pictures/Signatures

• If you are posting pictures as part of your thread/reply, please keep the size of personal images down. If you need to just link to a website where the picture is. Over-sized photos will be removed.
• Board users agree not to post any material that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary information without the express permission of the owner(s) of said copyright, trademark or other proprietary right.

Signatures

• Signatures should be kept to a five line maximum and not contain pictures or moving animation.
• If you are asked to change a signature by a moderator and refuse, you may wind up with no posts at all, and a lengthy ban

Spoilers

• Please respect other people on our forum by not putting "spoiler" type information in subject lines. If you are posting spoiler type information, please be considerate and put *SPOILER* in the title.

TXT SPEAK

• Using txtspk n ur psts is cnsdrd been rlly stpd cuz u hv qwert kbd n ur pc so xpct 2 b wrnd.
• Please don't do this, repeat offenders might be "asked" to take a break from posting.
• The official language of this forum is English!

Personal Abuse / Flaming

• Posters who abuse others on here will be banned.
• Permanent bans will be handed out on a first offence if a moderator feels it is warranted. There is no argument on this one. Abuse someone and you will be banned. Calling someone an idiot is abuse.
• Don't attack the poster, attack the post.

Trolls

• An Internet "troll" is a person who delights in sowing discord on the Internet. He (and it is usually he) tries to start arguments and upset people.
• Trolls are utterly impervious to criticism (constructive or otherwise). You cannot negotiate with them; you cannot cause them to feel shame or compassion; you cannot reason with them. Pointless Threads and Polls

• Posting any pointless thread or poll will result in the thread being locked. You can be banned for this. Think before you post. If you don't have anything to say then don't bother posting a new thread.
• Please try to comment as much as you can on any threads you create. If you create a thread in which you ask people to contribute in, contribute first
• Don't post just to increase your number of posts. If you have nothing to say on a certain matter then don't post. The number of posts on this board has no direct relation to the experience of a member.
• You may use the "NO WIRE HANGERS" forum to post any crazy threads in, but all threads will need to be moderated first.
• Moderators will also move pointless threads to the above forum.

Arguing with a moderator

• Do not argue with a moderator in a thread after they have given a warning or a ban etc. If you do, it will be deleted.
• If you have an issue with a moderator's action then PM the mod in question. They will discuss it with you.
• You can then, if unsatisfied with the PM route, then contact an administrator.

Reporting Posts

• Any thread or post that contravenes the charter should be reported.
• When reporting a post, make sure you have good reason.
• Someone disagreeing with you is not a troll, not all arguments are abusive etc. Abusing this feature is frowned upon.
• If you feel that a particular post breaks the rules, report it by clicking on the icon and filling out the appropriate form

Registering a New Account to Circumvent a Ban

• This will get all accounts site-banned.

Posting News Stories.

• If you are creating a thread regarding a news item, do not copy and paste the entire piece, simply provide a link to the story, and give a brief synopsis along with your opinion on the story or a comment in relation to it.
• Also please credit and link where you got the story from.

No Gay personals / classifieds

• Gay Personals / classifieds are not allowed on the forum.
• We provide a classified section especially for this purpose. The Personals section can be found here - http://www.gaycork.com/personals/
• If you want to meet other members of this board, then contact them by pm or come to the regular meet-ups

Finally please note:

• While these guidelines cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
• The webmaster, administrators and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit without prior warning.
• If you do not agree with the rules and terms of agreement then you do not have to post on this board.
