Joan Armatrading - Savoy

Joan Armatrading wrote the soundtrack to my life and tonight she plays the Savoy. I am giddy and weak at the knees. Yet, few people seem to have heard of her. Please tell me the good Citizens of GayCork have heard of her and love her as much as I do!!

Anyone going along to it by any chance?

Awwww poor LT you can call me whatever you want. I only changed my name because some stupid article thought I was called after Louis Walsh HELLO. I have a picture of the real Louis in my avator LOL

I'm going to Dolly Parton on Sat I bet there will be loads of Queens at that YEE HAW. I can't wait!

Indeed I've heard of her as well, didn't realise she was playing tonight in the Savoy, would have been tempted to head along. Wouldn't say I'm a huge fan but like some of her music.

Well I made it in for the gig last night and,I must say, I was not disappointed.
Joan was in great voice and belted out all the classics. I had forgotten half of her great songs.
Her new stuff sounds good too....real rocky blues!

The only song of hers I know is "Drop the Pilot" but I play it so often on my iPod that I am sure it's part of the firmware now...

Glad to hear it was a good show! God bless the Savoy for bringing interesting acts to Cork.

no problem Macker, glad you enjoyed it. I had a fabulous night there, she has a fabulous voice and when she sings you always sense that she is singing really from the heart.

She did a nice version of "Love and Affection" I thought, and "Me Myself I" was a real crowd pleaser.

I never realised she had such a big lesbian following until last night.
