It needs to be stated here that funds raised for Mr Gay Cork events, either table quizzes or raffles, go to HIV/Aids related charities and do not in any way "fund" Mr Gay Cork going to the Mr Gay Ireland final in Dublin as some folk may think.

It is a requirement of all the Mr Gay Ireland 2008 competitors to raise as much for HIV/Aids charities as possible and the more raised by each competitor is taken into consideration when choosing the eventual winner of Mr Gay Ireland 2008.

So everyone please be generous and support our Cork representative in the final. It is for charity after all.

Not that I'm giving out about money for charity, certainly not. But you can essentially buy the title?

No that's not the case. There will also be a series of interviews and how each guy performs and looks on the night of the final in front of judges. Text-voting is also involved where anyone can vote for their favourite contestant, I think that commences this weekend. Which ever contestant amasses the most overall points is the winner of Mr Gay Ireland 2008.

And of course these worthwhile charities will benefit from all contestants around the country.
