I'm going through an Anime phase atm. Although I'm rapidly running out of new material. Does anyone have any suggestions? Helpful ones only...
naruto (avoid filler arcs like the plague), bleach, full metal alchemist, card captor sakura (the original japanese version as the english one removes the extreme homosexual plots), neon genesis evangelion, zoids. that should keep you for a while. oh and you may as well read the mangas for the above too
On episode 79 of Naruto atm, as for the other only Zoids is the one I haven't seen As for Cardcaptors I have to agree with you. It just beats the Sailormoon movies for gayness
Ok so I've caught up with Bleach and Naruto from the last year. Slayers Revolution is next on my list but I need some more. Rayto I know you're hanging out there somewhere
Oh him! I've tied him up and put him the attic. Don't expect to see him anytime soon. Anyway... the series I'm watching at the moment Jewelpet Twinkle, Lilpri ( both magical girl series aimed at little girls but they're cute), HeartCatch Precure, Angel Beats (bit like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) and Ichiban Ushiro No Daimaou (which is a bit eechi but interesting all the same). One that finished about a month ago that I enjoyed was The Book of Bantorra. I still don't really get what was going on in it, but the animation was really good I thought.
Those series are all series that are airing at the moment in Japan (apart from Bantorra which is just finished). If you want an older series that you will be able to watch to completion there is always Witch Hunter Robin, Elfen Lied and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle's (which was a sort of cross-over series featuring characters from Clamp's Card Captor Sakura and xxxHolic). Oh xxxHolic is good too.
Looks kinky! Have you heard of anything along the lines of Slayers recently released, or even from the last few years?
Heres a link to the Spring listing of anime airing in Japan. See if any of them take your fancy: http://rankai.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/spring-2010-v2march.jpg
I'm currently binge-watching Witch Hunter Robin on my housemate's recommendation. It's bloody boring as hell so far but I think it's mildly picking up. Since I last posted, I've been watching Fairy Tail (amazing fun manga that was finally adapted to an anime series), Blood+ (dark, mature and upsetting, but amazing), and finally got around to One Piece (fun, but surprising complex story) As I'm more of a manga whore though, here's what I'm reading at the mo Freezing Bleach Fairy Tail Psyren One Piece Hunter x Hunter Naruto Liar Game Highschool Of The Dead Fullmetal Alchemist Zetman Claymore D.Gray-man Soul Eater 07-Ghost Umineko no Naku Koro ni Ubel Blatt Liar Game, Psyren and Hunter x Hunter are essential reads! i presume you've seen AKIRA?My brother is a huge anime fan.ive always meant to watch alot of the stuff he has but never got the time.there's one as well called BATTLE ANGEL ALITA which im not sure is a comic or an animated series but James Cameron has been considering making a film of it for years.it sounds absolutely amazing.
Okay, looking it over... 'Yamada is a high school student and a virgin whose ambition is to have 1000 casual sexual partners...' 'This manga centres on a creature that looks like a dog but has a face that's shaped like buttocks...' And that's before we get to three things about baseball and the obvious kids-toy cash-ins. And, obviously, the incest. I quite like the look of the one with Galileo in it, though.
Yeah I know, I watched a bit of that one. It was funny in that 'they're mad into sex' kind of way. The main character was in the toilet with another female character and started bragging about how she was going to get some male character into bed and pulled out a whole load of condoms! The other female character then said something about her still being a virgin or something. It was weird but funny.
Akira is just awful, it's only famous because it was the first mainstream one to make it over this side of the waters. I like the look of Arakawa behind the bridge (nuns with guns) and Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Ahh it wasn't too bad, it just lacked a stand-alone plot. The manga is rather decent and is much meatier on storyline. I assume we don't need to mention that all of Miyazaki's films are spectacular, right?
Meh. I was far from taken with Howl's Moving Castle actually. Going back to the list, Hetalia is always good. Although I'd still far rather watch my avatar The way before you has been prepared... I guess that means that you have no choice... but to Bring About the Revolution of the Wordl!
