I think we'll start this at the beginning of September. Im going with the following format. For the 1st couple of sessions I'll do a demo and give people a feel for the atmosphere and how the meetups will run. Then how about we take turns to do a demo? And maybe, just maybe we could even get a visit from a guest chef/cookery teacher? I think its gonna be fun and I hope others will think so too!
I'd say it'll be on in the Other Place, same as the Meet 'n' Greets. All are welcome to this and what I'd really love is if there was a different demonstrator every session. It would make it into a great learning experience and would be so much fun too!
Okies, those who are interested in this, please PM me on here with your email addy and mobile. If I get enough interest, I'll try organising the Other Place for our meetings. The demos will not involve any complicated techniques to begn with. We'll start with really simple, healthy and tasty dishes and work from there. I'll include some pasta and stir fry dishes but not too many as the techniques are very similar for most of those dishes, but many people may not be familiar with the correct way to cook pasta or make a proper stirfry. Its not that hard, but get the techniques right and you'll be amazed at the difference. Colleen xo
Just updated my food blog on Wordpress. I'm very happy with it. Lots of followers on Twitter too which has taken me by surprise! Anyway to any GCers who read or follow my blog, thank you. Having people read it makes it worthwhile. Here's a link folks! http://allancooks.wordpress.com/
A few things I've spotted in recent weeks. A UCC initiative offering 4 days worth of ingredients for a tenner in order to get students cooking wholesome meals for themselves rather than relying on convenience, takeaway and campus canteen food. http://www.collegedinners.ie Any fans of Donal Skehan may be interested in attending his demo at Dwyers Electrical on Forge Hill, Airport Road. Its on Thursday 6th October. The first 50 to register on their website will receive an invitation to attend. http://www.dwyers.ie
