It is almost like an annual event at this stage, cleaning out parts of the city. Douglas Shopping Centre
Horrific. Last night I had to destroy my feet just to get in the door after work...but thankfully on first floor, so no problems there. Whole block was surrounded by water. That'll teach me to not wear wellies everywhere. Level of the river was much lower than I thought it would be though. Blackpool is in a bad way...dire. Oliver Plunkett St had some problems as well. Lightning, Thunder.... On an interesting side note, St Swithin's Day has the superstition that if it rains on that day, it'll rain for 40 days...but the 27th of June has the superstition that if it rains on the 27th, it'll rain for 7 weeks.
We've had the wettest, coldest and dullest June on record, apparently. Come to Cork, where every month is November! &__&
Traffic was bad on the south link this morning as everyone slowed down to look at douglas from the overpass. Traffic was backed up by mahon point but after you got passed douglas village there were no problems.
hmm...I guess living on top of a hill that is far far away from Cork city has some advantages after all
