Hey guys, seeing that the eagerly awaited ALIEN related PROMETHEUS is out this week i was wondering if the good folk of G.C. would be interested in a meet up next week some time to see it?
I texted your other half earlier and he said he might be up for Wednesday night.I have auditions Tuesday and Thursday night so Wednesday would be perfect for me.What say ye?We would probably have to book as well as you said Admin just in case.
Cool.Tomorrow (Wednesday) night it is so. The latest 2D showing is on at 7.45 and the latest 3D is at 8.45.Which would ye prefer?
Either one is fine with me, guess booking tickets would be a good idea? If nobody has a particular preference then how about 8.45?
I think that we have more or less decided that it's Friday night instead guys.Sorry for any inconvenience.Shall we say 8.45 on Friday in Mahon so?
Saw it today! I absolutely loved it! I'm a huge fan of the first two, Ridley Scott's ALIEN and James Cameron's ALIENS ( forget Alien 3 or Resurrection or the AVPs ) and loved that the story stands on its own but there is still some continuity with the first Alien! I won't say anymore as don't want to give away spoilers.
Well it turns out only myself and Curley went to see this last night! I have to admit my shame at never having seen Alien, or any Alien film before. I found Prometheus enjoyable and a good watch, if confusing, hard-to-make-out and, at times, silly (if you're being gonna be crushed by something, don't run along its path! Run to the side!). I thought Noomi Rapace was a bit, I dunno, wooden in places? Theron and Fassbender were good. Marshall-Green, who is totally new to me, is hot, in a very Tom Hardy way. Guy Pearce was completely unnecessary. His old-man make-up looked fake, which is weird because the rest of the special effects were bang-on. I don't know why they didn't get an actual old man. I think looking back on it now, I loved the first half of the film but it lost me in the second half. Curley, who is a big Alien fan, was disappointed by it.
I saw it last week and really enjoyed it. Agree with what you said about Guy Pearce. Why not just get an old man to play the part!!!
I felt the same about Guy Pearce but I thought Michael Fassbender played the Android David really well! I read somewhere online that Ridley Scott is planning to do another two films [ YAY!!!! ] and the next two will connect in more with ALIEN.
I'm with you 100% there so glad to hear that you liked Prometheus as it bodes well for me Probably will get to see it the week after next, 3d or 2d I wonder....
