That video was shot in Castletown, Co. Limerick....and stuff like this is why I love being from the county and not Limerick city!
Funniest thing I've seen in a while.

    Proud to be a culchie!

Those videos absolutely terrify me. Seriously :( :(

How far outside a city do you have to come from to be a culchie? What do culchies call city people? Someone called me a 'right townie' once, is that it?o_O

Well up here i suppose i'm considered a culchie (which annoys me) but down in Tralee i'm called a townie as i'm not from a country area so take from that what you will haha.

On a similar note here are an assortment of videos of Tralee legend Christy Tick Tock (Admin is a huge fan :)).

and this one,i don't know her name but she's fucking mad lol.The crater, she's nice mad though.I do love the mad ones, they're harmless like.

Isn't Ireland the most unusual country ever?

Did a lot of driving (well as a passenger) over the weekend and went through some very weird places, they were actually just like Craggy Island or Killnaskully, so many crazies. I kept thinking, oh sweet Jesus 'Wrong turn' we're all going to die :(

Of course we went through some beautiful picturesque little towns and villages too, just like from a fairy tale. They made me very proud to be Irish. Lots of very impressed tourists around the place

It would be assumed that you are a thieving, ignorant, privleged, over-educated ponce. It would be up to you to prove otherwise and there is no real encapsulating term for that. ;)

I'm a country boy and grew up on a farm. I consider it one of the best starts in life one can get. I was surrounded always by the miracle of life. And Beast Shit.

I've always been proud to be a Norrie, although I do find you culchies fair funny!! :D

An ignorant robbing privileged over educated ponce? None of that makes sense??

It's not meant to. Just saying that most country people have low opinions of city folk. In general, it's assumed in country areas that City people are not as "decent" as country people and the list above is some of the opinions that you could come across (more so ten years ago or more rather than recently)

    Obviously they ain't my opinions!
  15. louislestat Queen Bee

    Ah Jesus I know that!

Pity people think that. You won't get better neighbours anywhere in the world than we have up here. Honest to God they all look out for one another. The builders who did work in my house a few years back couldnt get over the neighbours they are very protective :) The foreman told me after wards that I had 'the best neighbours in the world' and he had never seen the likes of it anywhere else he worked.

It is a pity that people think like that. Many places in the city have a better sense of community than some rural villages. When I first worked in the City 13 yrs ago (cue Montage of floppy hair with centre crease and NAFF54 jackets) I couldn't get over how connected people were in the place I was working. They all came from the same place and tended to marry one another's sisters.

The city villages that have been around for generations are really nice places really.

I always thought it was the other way round??

Thought City people thought of country people as all Farmers :D and country people considered City people as all "professional" and stuff....

But it's right about the North Side.... wont find greater people to count on. True community spirit!

Country people think city people are up themselves.

City people think country people are idiots.

    Thats the basic analogy.

Well only Limerick and Waterford, and they usually are correct.
