Nope I know of at least three of the particpants, two Chambers staff and one 'former member' of staff
An not out to moan, but I feel it would be nice if some of that money went to a Cork based charity as well.
The Cork News has a bit of a blurb for it here. If you pick up the paper itself, it's on page 34.....here.
That kind of annoyed me. Why the semi-naked young fella? Article made serious point but it got lost in the Calvin klien underpants.
Can't say I like the photo either....that lad looks very scrawny. But being fair about it, part of the article refers to the contestants stripping down to their underwear. It's not exactly a competition that's in the same vein as the Rose of Tralee.
Well, tonight is the night folks! Should be a great night. Have met some of the contestants also on Friday when we were setting up the Friday Meltdown gig. Really handsome guys but more importantly, pleasant and friendly guys also. Most of the guys I met would be worthy representatives of the Rebel County!
Ah ell, not everyone can be a winner. Its a tough one this year, but I have formed some opinions already. Keeping my mouth shut though lol
I'll put my neck on the line for a change All I will say is VOTE GILES. Keep in mind the winner will have to raise money for charity, be interviewed by the Dublin panal and of course look good I know he will raise a lot of money as he is a diligent worker and perfectionist, he is wellspoken and articulate, and he looks great. Bryan did us so proud last year, the perfect contestant so let's send someone just as cool this year That's my tuppence worth anyway
I'm a tad biased towards two of the contestants. Gies, of course, being my wonderful co-host on the Friday Meltdown, and the lovely James Shelley, a fellow Cobhite. James is in the Irish Naval Service and is both handsome and pleasant, as well as being hilariously funny and an all round great guy. I think he's very brave to enter this, being in the navy and if he were to win either title would be a major step forward for this country.
Looks like I'll be going to this after all. I don't think I know any of the entrants, although I do know of Giles. I shall be watching intently before making my choice.
Polite way of saying perving ya?! I'll be going too, can't wait for the show to start, it'll be might craic.
