YOU WILL HEAR IT FIRST FROM ME AND HERE ON GAYCORK.COM Hi guys, We have been in meetings with owners and managers of Reardens,Scott's,Chambers,Preachers and Winters (Dublin) this week and it has finally been decided after lots of debates that our company will open a FULL TIME GAY VENUE. Since we opened Ruby's lots and lots of people were asking what we would do next and a year after Ruby's we launched Sinner's. We now run 2 of the biggest nights on the Cork scene, so my bosses wanted to move forward and do more. Due to the success of Ruby's and Sinners, We will be launching Corks own version of The successfull FRONT LOUNGE in Dublin. Yes we are taking over CHAMBERS BAR from the SATURDAY (Ist of AUG)of the AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY WEEK-END. It's Going to be Run still by day as Stitch and Switch and by night as a Full-time gay bar. We are KEEPING RUBY'S for Fridays so have agreed with SALSA IRELAND TO TAKE VENUE FRIDAYS from 11pm. They are happy to run SALSA in a gay bar, and gay community can stay there if they want on a Friday night if not going to Ruby's. Regular customers of new bar will get great drink deals pre-Ruby's on Fridays, even Finger Food some Fridays. We are making changes inside to venue to improve it,it's a beatiful bar already but we are changing around the dance floor, we are creating a shots and bottle bar on the dance floor where old Dj box is. We are putting in new stage area at front of bar for shows and events. We are adding new lighting and camping the bar up a bit more,We are introducing Drinks specials and New Cocktail Menus, We will be the best priced GAY VENUE in CORK. We will be opening Sundays day time for Coffee and Cakes like what Bodega used to do in Past. We will be doing an invitation night only for offical launch night coming in August were we will be giving away lots of free drinks and food. Regular customers of New bar will get comps for Ruby's. RUBY'S AND SINNERS will be run by mostly Gay men and Women and of course Myself and Gerard (door of RUBY'S) my partner will manage the new bar.We are currently in talks with well known favourites of the Gay scene and will only employ fun outgoing friendly staff. All staff will be fully trained to a high standard. You will expect a Clean, Friendly bar. We will aim to make your experience of a good one and WE ARE NOW GOING FULL FORCE INTO THIS MARKET and promise you will not be dissappointed. We have a calender of events and promotions moving forward and can't wait for you to experience. CHAMBERS is a busy week-end straight bar at the moment but owners are willing to change and Tonight it was finally signed and sealed for AUG 1st 2009 FINALLY CHAMBERS WILL HAVE ITS OWN IDENTITY. Now all we need to do is Get the NAME of new bar sorted. If you are happy with what I have done with Ruby's and Sinner's then trust me, this will be fun, I now have a Full-Time gay venue, I can do so much more for the gay community. Dermot, I'm delighted for you! You really have put so much effort into the venues that you run and I have no doubt that you will ensure Chambers is a massive success as a sterling gay venue in Cork! Well done you, and well done the team in Reardens and Co. Ronan.
ThANKS Slayer, We will hopefully have a team on board that ALL of the gay community will like. We were up talking about plans for the place until the late hours, and met some of the people whom we want with us on this, so it's going to be good for CORK. we must sit down and talk in the future. lots of love Dermot
I am very happy to hear this. I think its a lovely venue. I much prefer Sinners to Rubys because I love the surroundings. I'm sure it will be a huge success. Best of luck to all involved. I'll be dying to see who'll be working there?
Great news. I say keep the old name of The Chambers! Also, will the doormen be Sinners doormen or regular Chambers door men?
yes doormen will be Sinners and Ruby's Doormen from Aug 1st Takeover, so don't worry you will meet the same friendly faces. people are welcome this SAT if they are going out, All the staff know its changing to a GAY BAR so no worries dermot xxxx
Yes I definetly think the name should stay the same. I like 'The Chambers'. Glad to hear it will be the same friendly door men too.
