Quinn to publish anti-discrimination proposals 'within weeks'

    Education Minister Ruairi Quinn has said he will publish proposals to remove discrimination against gay and lesbian teachers in the coming weeks.[​IMG]

    Are they going to tackle the issue of ethos in Catholic schools?

    Its a step forward alright but it could result in two steps backwards too. I would love to see the way religion is taught changed and the specific sacraments done outside of class time too, its about time the church's influence was removed from the schools and schools were run like educate together schools. Although I am never going to go into teaching now, I think changes need to be made to the way some subjects are taught in schools.

    Sorry for going a bit off the topic.
