Got asked at work today when do I need to take my Summer Holidays. How the hell should I know, I can't even plan beyond tomorrow.

Can't use Wiki to get your essay done?

Nope (who actually uses wikipedia as a reliable source of info for an essay anyway?!), I believe the legislation itself to be utterly flawed and in need of killing off. Piracy may be a problem but SOPA is most certainly not the way to tackle it.

Seriously if you didn't know what the film was about before you walked into it you shouldn't get a refund.

my mum runs a nursing home and it going to be more like 900 beds, these cuts could mean that i am out of a job

Saw the article on the new Broadcast Charge on the front of the Exmainer this morning and thought what bizarre parallel universe did I wake up to:
The public is facing a second "household charge" in the shape of a levy that will replace the television licence fee — and all households will have to pay, even if they do not have a television


Then I remembered, its Ireland.

Yeah - it's effectively an Internet Tax, isn't it? So, whether you watch RTE or not (and I really, really don't), you pay. Wow.

So, does that mean that torrenting things like Sherlock or Doctor Who is OK now? I mean, if I have to pay tax on it...

I'd be happy if the money went to producing good shows and not drivel like Fade Street, Celebrities go racing or that god awful Brendan O'Connor show!
