Cork, Ireland - The UCC LGBT Society last night elected a new committee for the forthcoming academic year. 1082229 who served as vice auditor this year was elected as auditor of the society, replacing Ichabod who chose not to seek reselection and concentrate on his career as an art historian. Ms. Hunter S who earned much praise as the society's Campaigns Officer this year, narrowly beat Ron in the race for the vice auditorship of the society. G-man, the current Finance Officer was elected Recording Secretary for the coming year. He will be replaced by a new face, Levis who is making his debut on the society committee. The Events portfolio was the most hotly contested of the night with four candidates. All were grilled by a demanding membership and in the end it was Nkosi (17mkk) who won a narrow victory. The final position to be filled was that of Society PRO. A winner of the UCC LGBT Goscar for Most Inspiring Newbie, Mabbit, saw off the challenge of Ron with a convincing victory. Sugarcoma, Apollo and Ladybhoy join Ichabod in seeking pastures new next year. Sugarcoma was the longest running member of the committee and responsible for the society website and the Qboard which many analysts have recognised as being integral to the growth of the society over the past two years. The society also ratified a new constitution last night which officially recognises the change from and LGB to an LGBT society and allows for the smoother running of the society in the future.
