May the ghost of Margaret Rutherford rise from the grave and kick the living shite out of those responsible for this travesty. What next - Poirot played by Ben Afflick?
Well they just announced that for the Total Recall remake, it will not be on Mars and Colin Farrell will take Arnie's place....
No doubt it will be set in the alternate world that is IKEA in Ballymun with some slight tweaking where IKEA becomes Wal-Mart and Ballymun is actually in southern California (will be filmed in Vancouver). I do wonder about film biz bods - imagine the pitch: producer: 'yeah, we got this great idea to re-imagine a classic Christie story'. Studio exec: 'Who?' P :' Agatha Christie, you know. That broad who wrote all of those murder mysteries. She's dead so there are no copyright issues'. SE : 'Nice!. What kinda stuff did she do? Detectives with OCD? Addiction issues? History of abuse? Psychotic serial killers? - what's her hook?' P: 'um...well...its a little old spinster lady who wears tweed and is a total busybody and lives in a cute little British village...' SE : 'So - its Angela Lansbury. You gotta be kidding me!' P: 'ha ha ha. Angela Lansbury - gee, you are so genuinely funny. See, we wanna re-imagine it so the little old lady - heck lets just call her Angela - is going to be a young, fit, sexy American!' SE: 'Hmmmm...a young, fit, sexy, American crime fighting chick...I LOVE IT!'

Just watched Ringer. Not too bad but fairly predicable. There are a few scenes on a speedboat which were obviously filmed on a stage. It's so badly done it's comical.
