hi all im in a bit of bother,im trying to lose weight,i was 22 stone now im 17 but ive stopped losing weight in the last few weeks,i am to be 15 stone by febuary but im so down because i am trying real hard
There is only one way to loose weight eat less and exercise more. You are young so you should loose it quickly once you start You have to 1. Lower your calorie intake 2. Do weights 3. Do cardio It may sound obvious but stick with it and it will pay off. If you are not in a gym go walking. To start off do 3 nights of a brisk 30 minute walk and eventually build it to 5 nights. Stick with it it does work - best of luck with it Oh and dont eat late at night and drinks water all day long 5 or 6 SMALL meals a day to keep the metabolism going. Dont overload! Oh and no fizzy drinks
I've always had the exact oposite of that problem. Trying to put on weight since i was 16! Never been more than 11 stone! I went on heavy eating diets, food suppliments etc and just gave up after all that eating! Made me feel sick! A friend of mine was 17 stone and lost weight by eating 3 small meals a day (same size as his fist) and also with the excersise and training. He was down to 13 stone very quickly. One thing he was told was NOT to skip any meals! Aparently if you do that your body realises your not eating enough and tries to store the fat etc from the meals you do eat! Im not that well up on it all, so maybe somone can confirm the above? Good luck with it though, im pretty sure its not an easy thing, so well done so far.
Hey Manboobs. It might be worth checking out with your doctor and he or she can refer you to a nurse or a dietitian/nurse. Ask your doctor to calculate your BMI, this is the ideal weight you should be for your age and height. If you smoke, cut down now and if you drink, perhaps socially. Try to make more home cooked meals as opposed to eating out, avoid sugary treats and only have them seldom. 30 minutes each day will keep you fit but 60 minutes a day will start knocking off the pounds. Walking is a brill way to keep it off as is Yoga (if thats your thing). Hope that helps Yup! thumbs up. Yes this is true. Same way if you eat an hour after waking up the body stores it as fat. This method retards the metablisom in your body and it starts storing it as fat, same way if you eat before bed your metablism is lower and thuis stores what you ate as fat.
I don't have a weight problem, I watch my diet strictly and exercise regularly. I stick to the following: Cut wheat in my diet, have my five a day at least, consume completely natural foods, and drink 1.5 to 2 litres of water a day. I'd suggest investing in a Brita water filter, a juicer and a really good cookbook with natural recipes to kick start. Obviously, you need to exercise like there's no tomorrow to make any progress. Good luck.
i know what your going through! and i understand that you feel down about it! but like well done to you, its great that you went from 22stone to 17stone, its as simple as A B C , eat less, do more! simple things as walking to the shop or doing the house work is a great way of losing weight! its not the fastest way to lose weight lol but it still counts!
You shouldn't feel down! You've done so well already! You've lost 5 stone, and they say the first few pounds/stone are the quickest to shed so it's no surprise the level of weight loss has slowed down. And february is ages away so i've no doubt that if you keep doing what you're doing then you'll definitely drop those extra 2 stone, if not more. Keep the head up boy!
I'm trying to tone up at the moment cos I'm not very overweight and that's not much easy*! Just running like feck these days and the usual rolling around on a mat hoping that some of the wobbley bits will stop wobbling. I eat piles of sweets, skip about 2 of the 3 main meals a day, take 6 spoons of sugar per cup of tea and drink anything up to ten of those a day. I also, up to recently, would finish the day off with a half tube of pringles and a litre of club orange. I dunno how I got away with it for so long. It'll probably catch up with me some day. *New phrase
I've set myself a target of losing 10 kg by Christmas. I'm doing 3-4 cardio sessions in the gym per week, cycling to work but I really have to work on my eating habits. If I achieve this goal, I'll start weight training in the New Year! Hehe, maybe we should have a GayCork.com Fat Club! We could committ to posting how much weight we've lost on this thread each week!
personally what i think you might want to do now is to start to train yourself ... you have had enough weight loss ... might be an idea to build some muscle tone ... but remember muscle weighs more than fat so you might not see much loss on the scales , this is normal but what you will see is a change of shape ... so now concentrate on a tape measure watch what you eat and measure your body parts ... excuse the pun i mean waist , chest , arms , legs etc build up your protien intake and if need be think about food supliments to build your muscle bulk ... your local pharmacy can advise you on such products
Yeah.. All gays think they are fat. LOL I lost a lot of weight since last year.. because of stress.. anything works better for me.
thanks for all the replies,i walk about 4 or 5 miles a day, good brisk walk in the woods, rain hail or shine, and do a few stretches,i eat 2 potatoes, roasted chicken ,loads of veg for dinner, and supper i eat,big bowl of special k or corn flakes, fruit and fibre etc,and homemade brown bread, lettuce, tomato, boiled egg, small bit of real chedder cheese, and cup of tea,i dont eat a breakfast, never did,at night i might have a banna or a few strawberrys,i drink loads of water,
manboobs what i never said was if your trying to lose weight what you should think about is switching your meal sizes totally ... firstly you need to start eating brekkie and this is of upmost importance as it kicks off your metabolic rate for the day but ... breakfast should be your biggest meal .. followed by a medium sized lunch ... then a smaller dinner ... purly because any food you consume early in the day you will burn off fairly easily where as anything consumed in the evening your sleeping on .... it really makes sense .... another thing you might want to try is dont mix your protien and your carbs .... E.G have a full meat day one day for your protien and the following day have a carb day your veg potatoes pasta whatever .... jesus im full of good advice maybe i should use my own lol
I love this idea!!! I need people to stop me in rubys and chastise me for drinking high calorie drinks and to ensure I go home without stopping in hillbillys first, any volunteers? I really want to lose some extra pounds before spending the Jazz weekend next month with Vonnies family. I've put myself on a make up ban- I can't buy any until I am seven pounds lighter. My progress so far is that i'm hungry and I really need a new cream blush.
Depending on how much you want to lose weight, you could try using the odd supplement. One i'd recommend in particular is Tren Bomb. Not sure where u'd get that over here but i've used it on quad weekly cycles back in the UK. Lots of people call it a testosterone booster but what they really do is boost your metabolism. It will go through the roof with two of these a day! As long as you're doing a fair bit of training at the same time as using them, you'll easily turn your body fat into muscle. A lot of people use these to put the weight on, but they can be used for both scenarios depending on how much you eat with them. If you think about going on something like Tren Bomb after reading this post, get in touch as there's quite a lot to consider with these type of supplements, i'm only giving a basic overview here and you'd need a lot more info to succeed or be safe with this type of supplement. It's not going to kill you, but it could do totally the opposite of what you wanted if not done right. After doing a cycle of these you'd also want to do a cycle of anti estrogen tablets to even out your hormones afterwards. There are loads of options available to be honest.
I've tried this approach to weight loss and while I absolutely did shed pounds quickly I was also very very sick! I developed stomach ulcers, was constantly dizzy and had the most painful heartburn you can imagine. Despite all of this, I can't say i'm not tempted by ads for new 'miracle pills' and I do sometimes remember the remaining stash in my junk drawer. But I honestly believe that its not worth it and strongly recommend that you do not go down that road.
I know the type of 'miracle' pills that you're talking about actually, and i wouldn't touch them myself with a bargepole. You can make yourself sick of almost any pill if not taken with the right things / at the right times etc but it's especially inevitable with these 'miracle' pills advertised on the net or in magazines. The type of supplement i'm recommending is one i've personally used myself. And will be using again myself once i get a gym membership over here and start eating enough to put some weight on again. It's one that i was recommended to use by my personal trainer back in the UK, and also a lot of other guys i knew at the gym back home and some of these guys were professional bodybuilders so they knew what they were talking about. Half of them wouldn't have been using supplements like these themselves if they knew it was going to make them sick etc. They can't afford to lose weight from chucking their food back up just for the sake of supplements.
