Mna Mna choir for lesbians and bisexual women assemble at LinC on White Street Cork City every Monday evening from 8pm to 10pm.

New recruits are always welcome, you don’t have to ‘sign up’ or commit – just turn up and sing!

If you’d like to try your hand at joining in on our weekly singalong of mash ups, chart hits, golden oldies and sometimes a couple of original tunes, then pop along and bring some friends!

A 2 euro donation toward the upkeep of LinC is suggested.

Perhaps you’ve just come out and would like to meet some new like-minded friends, or you just fancy a bit of a sing, a cuppa and a weekly catch up.

Whatever the case, sapphic singers, come along and try it out!

Meet n Greet meeting changes

Written by gaycork. Posted in Community, News

Meet n’Greet are changing the timing of their monthly meetings, and  instead of  meeting on the last Wednesday of every month it will now be held on the first Tuesday of the month,

Their hope with this change is that it will be more accommodating for those who would like to attended but are included in one of the many events that are held on Wednesdays.

The first event, which is to be held on ‎6 November at 7pm in  The Other Place will be just a tea/coffee meet and we will gather ideas on what events people would like to do (cinema events, walks, pool, lazer tag and the like).

Return of the Ramblers

Written by gaycork. Posted in Community, News

In response to many requests from people who do not want to do long mountain walks, a group of people have come together and have decided to revive “Rainbow Ramblers.”

Their aim is to have “sociable walks on the  many looped walks and way marked walks” which have sprung up around Cork and the surrounding counties. They go on to say that ”the walks will not be strenuous and are mainly off-road on tracks and paths.”

The are planing to have their first walk on Sunday the 4th of November, with a car pool leaving the near the old Kino Cinema on Washington street at 11am

There will be a meeting for those interested in The Other Place Café on Wednesday 7th November at 7.30pm.  If you cannot attend but wish to join the group, contact Doc for further information on 087 – 6783726 or byemail: rainbow.ramblers.cork@gmail.com.

New Transgender Website for Cork

Written by gaycork. Posted in Community, News

A new transgender website for Cork has been launched in Cork.

TransgenderCork.com is an online resource launched in July 2012, owned by the Transgender community of Co. Cork and operated by the administrator Shane O’ Callaghan with guidance and input from the Transgender community of Co. Cork.

It is their hope that the website helps make a difference and inspires others to follow suit around the country, giving freedom of expression to Transgender people, raising awareness around Transgender issues, and connecting and bringing people together :)
